DGCA india.... you are damnnnn tooo stupid!

Whay the hell do you need me to have high school physics to convert to indian cpl when i already have "O" level physics, degree in aviation, CPL/ME (Australia and Malaysia), IR, QFI (senior), 1600 hrs with 1350 hrs instructional as well as a frozen ATPL?????

You guys simply LOVE to give poeple LOTS of problems.... you need to change... you need to think with your brains... and change your mentality and be a little pro pilot..... instead of being DICKHEADS.... CHANGE!

No Sonsal, India needs to change and come into line with the rest of the world or be blacklisted, kicked out of ICAO etc, then the Indian licence will be worth even less than it is now

PT6A has a point, and as a Indian Pilot you should be agreeing with him.
Its about time they came out of the stoneage , how can you take any international aviation agency seriously when they have piles of files all over their offices held together with shoelaces! I bet there are some good stories about the DGCA around the FAA, EASA and the likes from when they do the audits...

have some sense...

SONSAL...have some sense... i have the right qualifications to work as a commercial pilot. I AM working as a pilot NOW overseas.... you mean to say its sensible of DGCA to ask me to get my physics at high sch NOW... when i even have a degree and all the licenses to convert??!!!! COme to ur senses... think....which country has such ridiculous pre-requisites?? I think DGCA don't use their brains to think and consider applicants on a case by case basis at times... they are also simply LLLLAAAAAZZZZZYYYYY!!!

The thought of coming back to my homeland for good is slowly diminishing due to the screwed up mentality of DGCA....

^ Agreed. They have some of the most ridiculous requirements and paperwork for issuance of a license anywhere in the WORLD.

Show me another country with such illogical requirements to get a CPL ??

I know a guy who left school at 15 years of age, with nothing. He flew B747's., as an e.g., even flown over India.

Please don't tell the DGCA., as they would probably stroke out.

DGCA doesn't care what you or me think about their rules. Neither do they care about other countries' rules. They think having requirements like no other country in the world increases their standards. Apparently the world needs to watch India and learn. Yes I was actually told this by an official when I questioned him about DGCA's medical system. God help us

DGCA... useless bunch of clowns

SAM8808 "......they think having requirements like no other country in the world increases their standards. Apparently the world needs to watch India and learn..."

If they think DGCA has high standards think again... all the pilots with fake qualifications in India..., indigo failing to report that girl with fake licences making nose wheel landings only after a few similar landings... Did you know she is the daughter of DGCA's air safety director???!!! What the hell???

how is the pliot testing done, how are they assessed..... comming up with the most difficult questions for DGCA exams instead of testing pilots with more practical questions like in Australia and US.... that is standard..

These are the most sickest and most incompetent people at DGCA.... lazy, disrespectful and unwilling to assist pilots approaching them for clarifications, after all we are as indian citizens paying their wages..... shame on you DGCA..... how can you ask me to do my Physics at high school before conversion eventhough i have more relevant and advanced qualifications... not to mention some flying experience as well... Where are your brains?????

It won't be long before you useless guyz at DGCA are phased out...wait and see

Not defending these goons by any means.God knows, they need to go especially the top brass and then work downwards.
But---just for a minute--- let us walk in the other guy's shoes shall we? He wakes up every morning goes to a gloomy, dusty office to a dead end job.His job? Keep the files moving so that people can make ten times the salary he makes while he rots in his government job. What,I ask you, is his incentive to help you out? Inidians do not have the concept of 'dignity of labour' in their lexicon.Doing a job, however menial, that pays the bills, with dedication is a foreign concept. Most have made it to the coveted desk job in "Dilli" to retire with a pension. Not to 'help' guys aspiring to be airline pilots (still the highest paid private sector employee in India). Again, what is his incentive? Those who bribe him (and there are many who do---on this forum) make his days a little easier and his next Diwali a little brighter. If someone doesn't,tough.Life for him is unchanging whilst we struggle to make our dreams come true. Can you imagine the power he wields?? Even his bosses dare not take him to task because he has the opportunity to shut the office down with sick calls, work-to-rule and "looking for the file, sahib!" He is untouchable and he is all powerful, that little file clerk in DGCA ,whom we do not remember when we walk out the door with the ink not yet dry on our licenses.Until the next time.
So before we go all FAA and TC and CAA on these guys, let us consider the environment and the culture and the society that is India. And then when we come to the realization that the task ahead is impossible, acceptance will breed patience and perseverance. And, maybe ,just maybe, in the long run something might change. But then I have always been cautiously pessimistic.
Good luck.

Excellent idea!

If I may add a suggestion, email him every address of every thread on this forum and R & N forum, that is relevant to anything about Indian aviation. Beginning with the http of this thread.

Keep it up.

@msbatcha747 Why would you want to convert and get an Indian licence? Why would you want to work there at all?

Files being tied with shoelaces? That's internal to their department.

What about the highest ranking commercial pilots license ATPL which is tied with a string and authorizes command of a multi-million $ Jet to its holder?

One feels ashamed to show it! A plastic driving license looks better!

Reflects well on Indian Aviation, internationally.
