guys are indeed heading to the exits here, and more to come. Could go on for pages trying to articulate how difficult it is to work here. Previous posts on Skymark have spoken to the "culture" in the region. All over the building are posters about "new culture" which is the CEO's way of saying "my way or the highway" He has ZERO people skills and no background in aviation what so ever other than reportedly crashing a light twin during a PC.
Every month we get an email asking to sell days off back because they are once again "critically short" of Captains. They use min. crew rest when building the original monthly schedule,, not as a contingency. With the guys leaving this will not change.
JAL has put a lot of pilots on the street and Skymark has hired a large number of them, but they all come with the expectation that they will have JAL's work rules and work environment, this is causing all kinds of problems as they refuse to fly the trips they are given.
At this point I am told that they will recruit 30 expat pilots this summer,, for those considering a move here,,,, revisit that Walmart offer
