Clarification on the NOC Issued by DGCA for Multi-Rating

Hi Fellow Aviators,

Just needed a small clarification on the need for obtaining a NOC from the DGCA for multi-engine rating.

I am a single engine CPL/IR rated DGCA CPL holder which I had converted from a South African (SA) CPL in March 2010. I am planning to do my multi-engine rating from South Africa which will be done by renewing my SA CPL. I plan to endorse it on my DGCA CPL once I return from SA. Can anyone please direct me whether a prior NOC would be required from the DGCA in my case?

I understand that a NOC is required in case a DGCA CPL holder plans to go abroad and get a rating for some aircraft. In my case, I will be completing my multi on my SA CPL and would later endorse it to my DGCA CPL.

Appreciate all your help in advance.
