Eva Air

I have run a search as usual, it appears that conditions have improved at Eva due to a large number of pilots leaving. Is this correct?

Has anybody got up to date information on life at Eva for expat FO's? They are recruiting it appears offering 4 year extendable contracts. Are these contracts actually ever extended?

Are they still showing a preference to send ex Turbo prop guys onto the MD-11? I've read that this fleet works the hardest and new pilots are to be based at Anchorage? Is this true?

Any information appreciated, as it appears to have gone a little quiet in here regarding Eva.

Thanks

JAS

Angry Don't Join Eva

There is a shortage of pilots in EVA and UNI(the subsidery company of EVA). Because pilots are leaving to Vietnam and China. I know the company just finish some recruting work in Japan and Maxico. If you have other choic, don't go to EVA. They treat pilots like slaves. The local pilots left Tawan not only for the money, what they want is repect from the company.

Do they really feel that they will be respected more by management in Vietnam or China? Everything I read regarding the relationship between the pilot work force and management in China and other Far Eastern countries appears to be fairly negative. The grass is always greener?

I'm fortunate to have a very good job in the UK, but for one reason or another feel ready for a change. I don't want to live to regret leaving however, especially only for the lure of a widebody.

Money Talks

Still, Money talks. Because the salary Vietnam and China offered is tripple of the one offered by EVA. Now there is a raise of salary in EVA an UNI recently, but still lower than that offered by other airline in ASIA. Pilots feel no safe environment here in TAIWAN. What I said "safe environment" is about the mental situation. If you can read Chinese go to FB and check the website "EVA 打工仔" that set up by employees of EVA and UNI, you will know better why empolyees here including pilots feel very not comfortable with the company.

Just Another Student,

You say you have a very good job where you are, and you need a change, you have made a perfect choice. Your change will be from
very good to fu**in ****. Don't be a lazy moron, and do a deeper
search on the EVA management crooks & gangsters. They have lost
97% of their ex-pats and many locals as well, not because it's a
great place to work.

Does anybody know whether they stick to this rule?
Any chance to join with minimum hours?

Just had a chat with a friend there that the sacking/firing of 100+ expats was not true!
