DGCA
Hi
I did speak with The DG again and asked all the suggestions many of you have written. He was saying" Indian DGCA CPL/ATPL can only be issued for an Indian Pasport Holder .At This stage he can Only Issue me a FATA as I am not holding an Indian Passport. Then I told him about my Indian written exams lapsing he said " He has extended the validity for 5 years now" When I asked about some other people who are citizen of another country who have been issued the Indian Licence He was very adamant that since he has been the DG They has never issued Indian Licence for a foreign passport holder. If I could prove it he will take the actions against the concerned.
what can I do Its all finished .My company has made it clear that They need me to have an Indian Licence to work for them.
so in short I was taken for a ride for the last 18 months.I went through the hard work studying like many of you and passed the exams, medical, and all the flying which I had to do for the initial issue .
thats India my Home country My land .
bye

Sad to hear your story
It is sad to hear to hear what you have gone through and still not be able to get any results.
I know couple of people who are working in India and are Foreign National and they have a Indian CPL/ATPL. Forget about them having even a OCI or a POI.
But you might be able to get an Indian Passport, would that help?
Not sure, btw what countries nationality do you hold. Could be the citizenship issue.
Anyway, shall be able to get around it somehow. As per ICAO, an ICAO member state has to issue the countries license to any citizen whose country is a UN memeber.
Not sure what is the deal with FATA though.

@mercy
have U talked to an attorney ....
There are a lot of people who will be affected by thiis.....
The DG is purely misinformed, I have read the Indian Aircaft rules & I don't see anywhere that Indian CPL or ATPL requires INDIAN nationality or passport.........
It is the law of the land, Talk to an attorney, I would if I was in your position of losing your job & everything that U have worked for......
Your last post is more than 6 months old, so pls let us know what the outcome was........

Out of curiosity, I'm wondering why you aren't trying to find jobs where you currently reside at the moment (seems to be out of India) and why you are so intent on flying back in India? If you have an OCI, I assume you don't have an Indian passport implying that you have all the citizenship requirements of your current country of residence.
