Since the Flights are long, the passengers will take a quick dinner and will be off for a nice nap and by the time they wake up their flight will be just 1 hrs away from landing.
Most of the US flights operated by Air India are like this but for European we also operate in the morning and night time.

to provide for an arrival time at the destination that would generate the greatest connectivity for onwards travel. for eg. not all passengers stay in London on a BOM-LHR flight. Most of them connect on to either other Europe or US destinations. An afternoon flight from BOM to LHR would not connect any of these passengers.

Because there is no night curfew at most Indian airports.

Consider the high temperature and the altitude of the airport at the time of departure as maximumpayload is required for the profit from the flight
