u jump right into d sim and the chck pilot quickly briefs you about the hdg bug, the vor, ndb (if required), dme etc, thats it....!!!!! And hell yea, they make u do sector entry for a particular approach and when you are on the inbound leg and you do a missed approach, he asks u to come back to the navaid and asks u to do a sector entry for a completely different rwy approach and then asks you to do a holding pattern..... For me, when i was about to turn for the inbound leg of the vor hold, the captain gave me pretty strong winds, so i had to watch for that and apply correction, coz otherwise he wouldn't be very nice during the check...
I had to experience it one time and it was bad...!!!!!

@ Sandysup - Got to know that the 3rd Batch would be starting in January, and those who'd be in that batch would get their calls for medicals and joining formalities by the end of december, maybe third or fourth week... and the 4th Batch would then start in March... (This is a confirmed news from Jet HR)
@ 37thousandfeet - There are three places where you could be send for TR... London, Brussels and Bangalore... You get the slot on a random basis... You go to london/brussels and you get a daily allowance paid to you altogether before the beginning of the TR.. if you get bangalore, then you dont get any extra moolah..!!
Oh yeah, and this TR is after you attend your 7 weeks ground classes in SM Center, Andheri East, Mumbai, then do your supis...

@Pooja_flygurl - It really not that bad.. you pay Jet 15 lacs for the TR out of which you'd get 7.5 lacs back after completing five years with the company and the amount that you get to carry out your expenses in london/brussels is not that much but still alright.. they pay you about 45 pounds a day (roughly for 26 days) which comes out to be around Rs. 70k - 80k...

IPT call for re-assessed pilots
I have 4 questions, if anyone can answer it would be of great help.
1. Are any 'performance-chart/TAFs/METARs' based questions, or any other similar questions, asked along with flying?
2. I've heard IPT includes inbound-outbound interceptions,VOR approaches with complete Missed Approach Procedure and Holding patterns, and finally DME arc.
Is anything else we need to practice apart from above stated and NDB,ILS approaches?
To be specific, the RNAV app?
3.Are re-assessed pilots who are being called for IPT now also going be in the third batch?
4. Do we need to wait for medicals or further round or should we hit back after our test(for out-stationed candidates)?
Thanks.

Please, let me answer.
1. You are a fresher. You are not expected to know 'Performance Charts' for the Boeing 737-400 (The sim you'll be mostly doing the IPT on). Neither do they ask about TAFs/METARs etc.
2. What you are asked to do depends on your examiner. Your list sums up what is usually asked but not in the correct order. NO ILS approaches. You are in control of only the heading and course selector on the HSI. I've not heard of anyone being asked for an NDB approach yet.
3. The batch that you are put in depends on your performance in the IPT.
4. As far as I know you may go back to your city. But confirm with your examiner.
Remember the IPT is no longer about what you know as theory but how you apply it in real flying. The IPT is all about them seeing if you know where you are and what are you going to do when given an instruction (eg. Intercept, Hold).

Medicals for 3rd batch are on.
people have been called for their medicals and the 3rd batch is going to start in 1st week of January.
Also heard that jet is going to start a fresh round of recruitment in very near future.

Today, Jet's HR has sent mails to everyone who have successfully cleared their sims, advising the months of their joining.
Some have been intimated about FEB month Joining and others about the MARCH.
Their are also 99% chances that jet is going to initiate a fresh recruitment process in the month of January (Last week) or Feb (1st week) .
Cheers

Contact the Jet Airways HR. I guess everyone has appeared for the IPT including the re-assessment candidates, and they have even got the e-mail for their induction in May '11. And for the others its Feb and March '11 as aviation_insider has mentioned.

Does anyone know if Jet will call for an written test / assessment
without a converted Indian CPL ?
I know they have done this in the past (2008) .
Any chances for someone who still is in the conversion process ?
