Thumbs up may be 80

i have a friend flying for jet who said me last month that jet is coming up with 80 F/O positions not sure if its for ATR or for B737NG ...but as per him the ATR pay sounds gr8 200k rs ....well i wish all the ones appearing for the written a good luck and hope they recruit at least 10 people through this way apart from the regular Jugad kids ....

I suppose that there are 42 vacancies for which in n around 2500 PIlots will be fighting out of which approx. 15-20 would for the Commanders Children.

This is what I have overheard.... nothing is confirmed yet.

Again another speculation nothing else...

Till Then...

@aviator kool

iv heard almost the same story bout the selection.
15-20 already selected for captains
supposedly some ministers also have pre-bookings. some guy from mumbai already has given 7 names...
wonder wats coming...

also another thing heard...
they are taking ppl in bulk this time. and then will take batch wise.
as in.. they are selecting almost 500 ppl and will call them as and when needed.
but no pays till you are called for the ground classes...

sounds great if true.

500!!!
if its true that will be their only recruitment for the next 5-6 years ...but can't be true in any case. I have heard they'll take 200, but that also doesn't seem to be true. 200 is still possible but 500

200 or 500..........these figures might be possible as they are calling around 2500 ppls....first there plan was not to call around 2500 ppls as they haven't advertise for it....if they want to select 30-40ppls....then there is no need to call 2500 ppls or they might have recruit those guys by back door entry.....any thing can happen......pray to god,it will be a great news in last couple of years, if they are selecting people in bulk.....fingures crossed

Myth about connections and "jugaad" ...

Myth about connections and "jugaad" ...

Too much is being spoken about people with political contacts.

Understand that no airline will want a sizeable portion of their work force with political connections. They are asking for trouble. Tomorrow these very politically connected junior pilots could start some new union or other forms of mass protests and cause trouble to management.

Yes, there are a few candidates with political connections but VERY FEW.
They are those with really good contacts with union ministers belonging to Congress or those who know Mr.Praful Patel personally.
MLAs, MPs and other small time political contacts never work with an airline like 9W.

Secondly .. regarding "Commanders" and their kids.

Again a big myth. These "Commanders" are mere employees of the airline. Except for VP OPs, Chief Pilot, and few other Examiners, none of the other so called "COMMANDERS" (better known as Captains) have any big influence on the selections.

There are several sons/daughters/newphews of "commanders" of jet airways itself who have been unemployed for almost 2 years now.

Dont forget, these "commanders" will first have to make way for the real jugaadu kids .. ie those who know the VP, Director etc of Jet Airways.

@alphbravocharlie,

When we say commanders we talk about VP's OP's and Chief Pilots only. And not just Commanders.

thanx a lot buddy for the link of sample reasoning questions....!!! really appreciate it....!!!

2ndly u r almost rite about our schedule on sunday...we r in for a long n stressful day....!!!!

regarding the practice time a friend of mine told me that the jet r calling the gap between the techincal exam and reasoning exam as practice time as the gap will give us time to read n so call practice....i dont' think this is logical...she also said that she heard it from somewhere....seems more of a RUMOUR again....what do u think about it??

@ aviator kool

heard a big time Speculation/Rumour in the evng today that vacancies r close to 40 divided into batch of 20/20....ppl will b ranked in the selection process...1st 20 will be on 737's and next 20 will be on ATR's..........now God only knows how far this is true....???

anyone heard something on similar lines????

@ pilot 2612

500 getting shorlisted.....wow that's a lot.....is it just a rumour or u think this one has some weight in it......if that's the case then its cool...!!!......this would be the best news in the industry since last 2 1/2 years...!!! find out more abt this if u can buddy....

@ piper cherokee

even if its 200 n not 500 as pilot2612 mentioned, its still gr8 news.....much better than struggling for 30-40 positions.....of which 10-15 positions have heard r fixed........so this news is really good...i hope its true....!!!!!!!

@ arm is strong

makes absolute sense buddy......!!!!! but we can't be sure on it coz last year air india had called close to 2000 ppl to recruit for 40 positions......but seriously we need a huge recruitment drive to kick start the pilot hirings in the industry again....!!!!!!

does anyone know what kind of questions are expected in the jet airways exam?
@ adrika

its diificult to say n no one will know exactly what kind of questions r asked.....it wud be like our DGCA exams but definitely standard will be lot higher as we r expected to know everything in detail n depth...!!! it should have more of theory.......the call letter says-

Part-2: Domain Aptitude Tests consisting of Technical, Performance, Instruments, Navigation, Radio Aids, Air Regulation and Meteorology

so we will have more of theoretical questions on these subjects and also could have some numericals on radio aids n other numericals which do not require calculators.....but make sure u study jet engines coz there is a gr8 chance that the paper will have sizeable number of questions on it....anyways all the best n tc....!!!!

@on the ils @arm is strong @aviator kool

hey guys..
il have to agree with arm is strong on the fact tht "if they wanted onl 30-40 then then din even have to have all these call letters sent out.. they shouldv just picked them... so i do believe tht the number is gonna be more than 40 but how much more.. i have no clue.
@on the ils
YOU BET BRO!! thts gonna be a great news. but again.. we are living in a desperate time... speculations n rumours are with endless hope!
Also what you mentioned about air india is true.. very true.. but im hoping jet doesnt do tht... it'll be a huge disappointment.. we need jobs!! parents are going thru hell!
and what you heard from your pal is cool.. but tht so called "practice time" could very well be the time between the 2 papers when they expect us to eat drink and study..or REVISE everything! ha ha...
@aviator cool
i dun think they would put ppl on ATR cuz for ATR they had held intakes just a few weeks back (3-4) in which the KFA atr type rated guys sitting at home since 2 years had gone.. and i know this for a fact.
so i assume the vacancies are for jet... or may be they want for both since they might be planning an expansion.
but still a number of atr type rated guys from kfa are without flying... so the possibility is less..

i am so mind ****** trying to study all these subjects.. feels like im reading most of the stuff for the 1st time!! like tht qdf,qdm in the GC n Rl with conv..WTF!!!
charts are going right over my head!! the last time i did all this was almost 2 years back!!

what do you guys think we should do for TECH n PERFORMANCE??? ACE?

cheers n hope you guys are understand wat you read, UNLIKE me!
