that's the way.....

Nothing wrong with companies charging "processing" fees. Everything is fair in love and war... as the old saying goes.

Anyway, kids who have taken out loans and spent RS 2,500,000 on their training and are without jobs now - certainly won't mind spending an extra 10,000 to apply for a job or get their foot in the door. There are a good number of these unemployed pilots/kids in India who would do anything to get a "jet" job.

Unfortunately - that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Cheers

Rs. 10000/- favouring Go Airlines (India) Pvt. Ltd. payable at Mumbai towards applica

wow!! Rs 10,000 for application processing fee!!! i hope DGCa doesnt get inspired by them nd in future theyd start charing such a fee for CPL/ATPL Exams. heheheh.

Well it sounds really fishy, they could charge a reasonable fee for the written test and than if one passes the written test and is selected for a Sim ride than He/She can be asked for the Sim charges but upfront 10,000 just for processing fee would be lot.

And if we have spent 2500000 odd amount , i think it in return gave us guranteed hours and a license. and i dont think so just because we spent +/-250000 on our training weel keep paying airlines 10-20 K here and there for application processing fee. Atleast i woulnt do it, but i have lots of friens who are joining CTE paying 20 lakhs + for the type rating which again doesnt gurantee anything!!

Id rather save my 10k for later on! people who have it will definitely spend it. but there will be no end to this!!!

Sadly Ladies and Gentlemen this idea was invented in the US during the 1990's. Airlines began charging an application fee that ran between $50 and $80. Considering how many airlines there were in the US at that time it was possible to have quite a bit of money tied up in just applying for jobs. As in India now there were too many pilots chasing too few jobs and the airlines could get away with it. When large scale hiring returned the fees went away. Now I see that Delta is hiring and the fee is back as I guess they feel that they can get it again. It sucks, but the airlines hold all the cards right now. Good luck to all.

Correction there.
Delta application does not require a fee. The airline pilot apps site is free for single airline application.
