Recently heard from a lot of Senior captain's who are flying international that Jet Airways, Air India, Kingfisher, Spicejt, Go Air are all coming with vacancies for Cpl holders to replace the expats. Has anyone heard more about this. Expected to come anytime from now till August.

@ FlyJet787,

Motion Seconded!

@ airbus capt.,

To put that in perspective ;

Jet Airways - 48 people taken in during their last "Trainee Pilot" Induction,waiting for a call back since Sept'08. A few have been called for their medicals lately.
Also another Ad on their website mentioning vacancies for Boeing 737NG Typed Co-Pilots.

Air India - 90 Trainee Pilots recently inducted and have begun their ground classes - Some on the 777s, the rest on the 738s for AIX.

Kingfisher - We all know the story there......

GoAir - Currently recruiting Senior First Officers- with a A320 Type Ofcourse.

SpiceJet - A batch of abt 18-20 Odd F/Os currently undergoing their Type at Alteon, Singapore. Not to mention a few cadets still to go!

After all that, Do you still expect "Hiring" to begin by August?

@ optimusprime, you are not taking into account the 560 expats which will be replaced by indian commanders in 1-2 years or more....which in turn will generate atleast 560 vacancies for cpl holders or even more as all the airlines are in line for major expansion..so mathematically more vacancies should come

That topic is pretty debatable and secondly do you really suppose it would ever turn out like that?

Also, if that happens will the airlines start hiring as early as August this year?

as all the airlines are in line for major expansion
Kindly point out the aircraft deliveries scheduled for the whole of next year and I'm guessing you shall reassess your above-quoted statement!
