Question Jet Airways

Can anyone tell me what the accomodation provided for the Sigma contracts is?
If I am bringing my wife and 2 youngsters do you get houses or apartments and where are they located as downtown is over an hour away.

Jet Airways Housing

You can live anywhere you wish in your base. If your base is Mumbai there is nice housing available in Powai, a suburb area with some newer apartment buildings. This is about a 20 minute drive to the airport with company provided transportation. The housing allowance is adequate to cover your rent for a nice apartment.

You might also have the option to stay at the company provided Marriot Lakeside Chalet apartments for an indefinate period of time. This is a nice place to live and several pilots have their families staying with them.

Use the company housing until you get used to the place. Once you know your way around you can look for an apartment. The advantage of doing this is that you also don't have to fork out a lot of money for rent advances, deposits etc which are quite common here in India. Do some research on schools as well. Some International schools can be very expensive. Location is important as during monsoons and "peak hours" it can take you 1-2 hrs to get from A to B.

Jet Airways is indeed going to hire trainee FOs very soon.
but dont be too happy about that yet. Unless ofcourse you know someone very big in 9W management (VP, Director, Chief Pilot, TRE)
There are already 20-25 kids of commanders and others related to 9W family waiting in line with Indian CPL who will be taken soon in the next recruitment. (mostly July-Aug 2010)
And also dont worry about that batch of trainees selected in 2008.
A few of them have been given emails regarding their availability, but they are all "jugaadu candidates".
The rest have been shown the door.
The only silver lining is that about 10-15 candidates without jugad have some chance of making it. (now that is unless some other kids with political jugad dont become party poopers )
