Why higher pay with Wings Air than Lion Air
I must be missing the big picture, or some kind of picture. I have been reading R******h website and here that Wings Air are hiring ATR pilots (CAPT and FO).
The wages are very high compared to what is paid to Lion Air pilots who fly 900ER. I think the wages of an FO with Lion is about 3000usd per mth flying 100+hrs. And Capt is around 5-6000usd.
I know i didnt attend school too often especially MAth class..or english class. but there seem to be a 3000usd difference between the FO's of wings and Lion same goes with Capts pay..
I feel there is going to be a recruitment drive with Lion Air again... as pilots walk out, as the math does not add up.. first giving more money to fly a smaller plane, second I dont see Lion giving a pay rise to it pilot...if so I dont think it be the same as a WINGS ATR pilot...
I think it time for me to get a ATR type... then join WINGS or Vietnam...

you probably hit the nail right on the head. This ATR is a very popular Aircraft
and there is alot of Requirements around the World for ATR Crew. They have too offer reasonable pay to keep Pilots or they will simply go to bigger Aircraft as natural progression when the chance is there. I understand Wings is on a Contract though through recruitment Companies too.
I am regularly being hit with emails to apply to various Operators and been to a sim check allready. Alot of my Compatriates I'm sure will too.
But we all know a certain Company can replace its ATR Captains anytime apparently. Chok Dee Maleng Saab!

R*******h did do the rounds around the local airlines a couple of weeks ago (they were reportedly thrown out of one airline whom in the past they reportedly said "we don't take your inferior pilots" to the airline, but that's gossip...)...
Wings are desperate for people to fill their ATR cockpits. They're now embarking on a rapid training program for new pilots. The group is a "victim" of it's own success. Offering that much money is the only way to go to get people to want to fly "a propeller aircraft". People go to Lion Air group to get an NG rating.
Gossips coming from inside is that there's gonna be a bit of a "pay problem" for the ATR expats. But this came out about 4 weeks ago, it might have changed.
The joke running around now is "go to Lion or Wings and get a free NG or ATR rating, before they go bust! If they don't go bust, bite it and stay there and cope with the 'working conditions'"...

I was told a local Wings Air Dash 8 captain earns 30 million RP; so an expat ATR F/O will be earning almost twice as much as the local captain? Surely that can't be right! Astaga!!

The Dash 8 guys I hear are just waiting for their bonds/contracts to be over then they go outside the Lion group.
Can't be right? It's damn right... damned right... damned... so be it!
