I recently received the following email supposedly from the HR dept of Qatar airways.

Answer the online questions and send your CV to us as well for possible job

Its a blatant 'advance payment' scam where they ask you to pay 1100 pounds towards visa processing charges. There was a post about this in one of the sections of pprune...was a disclaimer from qatar airways that they are not to be held liable in the case of you getting duped.

Especially a caveat for the youngsters fresh out of flight training. If starting a thread about Qatar airways in the 'south asia and far east' is deemed inappropriate, it was done so that youngsters, who in some cases are desperate enough to pay 25 lakhs to an airlines like paramount, dont get lured into such scams.

A number of clues here that it's a scam and sod all to do with QR.

Hold your mouse over the URL's and they all go to addresses like rediffmail.com/cgi-bin/red.cgi?red=http%3A%2FFwww%2EMonstergulf%2Ecom

Then 'qatarsairways (at) gmail.com' ...... I dont think so.

Fortunately the majority of the people who try these scams are too stupid and illiterate to make them any more convincing.

It may be worth notifying Qatar Airways about the scam, you never know, they may not be aware.

Apart from the rest of it, a 'g mail' address should be a red warning flag. Plus the fact it is "qatars.airways" not "qatar.airways"

i had informed the airlines, n the reply i revied was AVOID..
no action was taken
