Diwali Night Flying restricions over Indian Airports

Out of curiosity.

Does the DGCA give some guidance in regards to overflying cities like Delhi and Mumbai on Diwali night in case some Yahoo's set off some high flying sparklers in the flight path?

Nope atleast I have not received any specific caution to be exercised as yet or infact have not heard of it..

So any one flying on 17th should confirm on any caution being issued by ATC for Fireworks in Aerodrome Vicinity.

Most of the aerial fireworks being sold in the market I presume do not cross 200-300 feet of vertical displacement .. So i dont think its a grave concern but am sure ATC would keep an eye on the Glide Path for any associated Risk.

BTW I am OFF spending the next 3 days with my folks at my place for Diwali..

In Delhi the glide path is pretty low over some areas bordering the NH 8. Also there seems to be a concentration of people in this area who are also not really too educated. First Diwali with this Rway open so just a concern! Last thing all need is a nice roman candle in ones way having similar results of a laser pointer.

Happy and safe diwali
