Hi,
what do you need to know exactly?
yes you can fly with FAA or any icao as long as you take your airlaw exams with the indian dgca and you get a fata.
just becarefull the fata is valid as long as your original licence or certificate is valid, the FATA is not a licence but a validation
i hope this help

and now FATA clearance is not being issued unless u r an TRI/TRE or an senior commander with atleast couple of thousand hours command time on the aircraft..
If u are an young pilot looking for that right seat..
hee hee..
you better look else where..

wannabe looking to fly right seat on FATA ? .. of course it's possible ..
All you need are :
1.Valid ICAO CPL
2.Valid ICAO Medical (current)
and ... MOST IMPORTANT ...
3. Solid Connections with the big bosses in the Airlines/DGCA !!! aka JUGAAD in India.

@shanx, also need 500 hours, on type if I remember correctly
Though I think point #3 is overstated. Its not as complicated as some would make it feel out to be!
