What License Type Is Required To Fly In India?

Hi everyone,

I am 16 and I finish school when I am 17 , I want to know what type of license does India require to have in order to fly for airlines? Well I am planning to do my flying in any one of these countries UK/USA/Australia/NZ which do you think is better? UK Is far too expensive at the moment. So I was thinking USA/Aus/NZ , Australia seems a fair choice but can I convert this license to the required Indian license?

Dont even think about it now , specially with the current economic scenario. Go to university and get a college degree. By the time you finish the current depression may be over.

Well, Is there any colleges I can do an integrated course, like get a college degree as well as go for flying. I so want to fly , but also get my college degree maybe a degree in aviation?

If you want ou can do Bachelor of aviation from griffith university in australia. You get ATPL, MEIR etc etc after completion of that course.

Then you can convert that aussie license to indian license.

i think it will be good to get driving licence first .
all licences can fly in and out of india.
since you are in kwi, get CAA. because it will be easier for you to renew.

your future employer will be the best to tell you about licencing requirments for the job you apply for.

you can always check ----------all above correct.

you can have all licences you stated , but get your driving licence as well.

BUT to fly indian registered a/c best is to have indian licence.
believe me donot waiste money.

Hi,

Schumi can you tell me more about Griffith,well do you do flying training at the same time, I dont want to waste any time doing my college first and then flying. Been loving flying from when I was a kid. So its like I am ready to study both flying and college at the same time.

I heard fitaviation.com , has both these courses intergrated. Any ideas anyone? Thier site is new so everything changed since the last time I checked ,thier old site was very easy . If I graduate from fit what type license do I get? FAA?

yup...

FIT aviation is a part of FIT (Florida Institute of Technology). So when you do complete your *flying* you get your licenses from FAA. Remember that you do not have to complete your degree to get your licenses from these universities. you can sign up for the flight classes and get your licenses from the FAA and be on your merry way.

Since you are looking at the 4 year degree route, why don't you get your bachelors in something else while doing a minor in aviation. That way - you have something else to fall back on in case flying does not work out for you.
