Wasn't a good day for Transaero. The 744 had already returned to stand after a birdstrike on the number one engine.

So did the Airbus hit the Boeing or did the Boeing hit the Airbus :-)

Aircraft collide at Dabolim-Goa-Cities-The Times of India

"The incident occurred at around 1.30 pm, when a Transaero Boeing 747 from Moscow was taxing down a link runway towards a parking bay, when its wing brushed against the tail of a stationary Thomas Cook Airlines Airbus 330 parked in Bay 6, airport officials said."

and why evacuate if they were empty...

"Both planes being unoccupied at the time, there were no injuries. “Things might have been different had passengers been on board. Passengers were to board the A-330 after the engine problem was fixed,” an airport official said."

Well, at least it wasn't pilot error, then ...

That place is tight to get around. Not enough bays and some very close maneuvering needed to get out. Had to happen sooner or later. Sad for A & B affected.

saw both of the A/C on a hop last night ...the 330 wing looks pretty wrinkled up underneath and the winlet completely torn off ...tried to get a pic but it was a bit dark from what it looks the 330 must have hit the 747 but like i said it was tough to make out ...lets see what comes outta this one ...and for those of you who dont park there ...i'd say ur lucky ....not much room for error

Transaero 747 was waiting to start the engines when 330 ran into it from behind
