Hi ricfly744,
Well they are operating 744 as far as I know. Even If I pay for my own type, do you think they would take me in wth 1000 previous hrs on GA???
Thanks,
HJM

Well Ayla, I am not sure, but I dont see any connection with the picture that you posted with my topic rather to any topic related to Aviation or Profession Pilot Rumour Network (PPRUNE).
If anyone could shed some light.
Thanks,
HJM

It was the danger, mystery and thrills that I rather thought applied to flying as a first officer for the various china airlines, perhaps not the best safety record going!

hjmemon,

As I said earlyer you don't have a chance. Let me explain myself. You are pretty young and have about 1000tt instruction job I assume (GA aircraft,,,single engine). At this time we are facing a recession and airlines are not hiring. There are pilots in the market with more than 4-6K total time and time on heavy jet that are getting fourlough at this time. Where do you think this guys go, once they get forlough. Yes, they will try to find another job in another continent. At the current job market, airlines in Middle East, Asia and central asia are recieving a lot of CV from North american pilots. WHY WOULD THEY HIRE SOMEONE LIKE YOU WITH 1000TT ON GA AIRCRAFT. I can understand your situation because I have been there. So, once again stop whoring yourself. Time might change few years along the road and maybe you be lucky,,,,but for now

whoring because he mentionned maybe paying for a type rating if offered a job ??
That probably means that one way or another , 90 pcent of the flying population are Ho's .Difference is are u a 20 bucks street walker by the docks (paying for a cfi for exemple ) or a high class 3000 a pass hilton dubai girl (ie buying your 744 or accepting a 5 years bond ) .
Get real , this is 2008 and some fellows have the means to get what they want quick , some others not .No point using big words...but maybe try to help by giving advises rather than insults .

Hi hjmemon,

I am not quite sure about if you have a chance or not with 1000hrs... but maybe you could try it with KAL. They are looking for non rated pilots. The rating will be on your own costs.
As I realized (not my own experience but rumours) KAL is not the first choice of those with many flight hours, so maybe low hours pilots have a better chance there. Give it a try.
And never give up trying and applying, for example Jade Cargo. Do not ask the guys here if you have any chance, the only one who can tell you is the human resources lady of the companies where you apply.

I tried Jade....

I sent my apps to Jade and got a reply that I didn't meet the quals they want. I felt disappointed but what can I do but just build more time and try again later. It doesn't cost anything to try...so just give it a shot and who knows you might get lucky. Things could change..... I hope soon

I've got about 1300tt and about 100 hrs on ERJ145 and 200 on Shorts330.

If anyone has any info on who will take this kind of time and experience please let me know.... I just really want to fly in ASIA. Its my ultimate goal!

Thanks and good luck to all of us....

I would say that after 1000 hrs on GA aircrat, the 744 is probably not your ideal first jet.

HI ,

I have been flying in China for more than 2 years now . Even though they really need pilots here , and sometimes the requirements for a jet position are lower than world average , I have never heard they got any one with similar experience . BUT I know some guys that joined some flight schools here as flight instructors , with something in their contracts mentioning that they will upgraded to line FOs after two or three years I think .
It maybe a hard way , but not impossible , if you're willing to pay the price... I mean , live in China , work a lot and bet that they will keep up with the contract .
Recently one guy from Finland flew as observer with me . He worked for 2 years at one flight school and now got one position as FO of a business jet
I also met some guys , one from USA , the other a Mexican , that are currently flying as Instructors at Shenzhen Airlines Flight school . Shenzhen just opened it's own flt school . Brand new Cessnas and Diamonds. These guys are expecting to become 737 FOs after a certain ammount of time ( I don't know how long) .
Shenzhen also owns a regional company flying CRJs .
Bottom line is , there may be a way here , I just don't know too much about it .

Good Luck !
