Another Indonesian Airline Grounded
Online news media in Indonesia reported tonight that the DGCA is grounding Riau Airlines, effective within the next 72 hours. The reason stated was that a conflict is ongoing between management and chief pilot, and that unless this is resolved an unsafe condition exists.
I heard a couple of weeks ago that the pilots were unhappy about more flight hours required by the CEO. Is this the sign of a coming pilots shortage? Or any other factors inside Riau? Anyone knows more?

Riau Airlines' AOC was frozen with effect from 27th July 2008. The main reason for freezing the AOC is due to both Chief Pilot and Ops Manager of RAL resigned and these two positions are still vacant till today, hence it does not meet the safety and operational requirements stated by the Indonesian DGCA.

Geez Left Wing
Cynical - or what??????
Maybe, just maybe, they resigned because they'd reached the "end of being fair and trusting" ie for honourable reasons.
Of course that doesn't mean they won't pop up in another operator in quick time.
Suppose you'd call that a "mixed posting."
Cheers All!
