Air Deccan

Any Air Deccan Pilots out there? I was offered a possible postion with them and would like to hear from people currently flying for them with regards to the company, operation etc?

The Indian aviation industry is going through a lot of changes now and how it will all end is not evident at this time. I have had a good 2 years with Deccan and they have lived up to all aspects of their contract. It is not always easy to work here since the schedules are very changeable. If knowing what you are doing a month in advance is important; you will have problems. The tie up with Kingfisher continues and no one knows how that will affect the pilot force. Good luck!

I've been with Deccan for about a year now and it's not all that bad. It all depends where they base you but flying is ok. Most of the expats pilots are from south and central american with few Americans and EUs. Send me an email I am based in Bangalore but commute to NC, USA.

air deccan cargo

i just retired @ american airlines ... i received a notice for an opening flying an A310 air deccan Cargo... i have 6,000 plus hours in type ... i'm thinking that this could be fun and exciting ... i hav been to India once b/4, but i have no flying experience in that part of the world ....is there anything you can tell me about living in India and what the flying is like ???

If you know english....there should be no problem.
The A310F would be AI or capt gopinath new venture of Deccan Cargo I suppose.

Low cost airline Air Deccan has roped in Jude Fonsecus from FedEx as its chief executive officer (CEO) for its cargo venture which is expected to be operational by the end of the calendar year.
