Unhappy Employment in Singapore

Just wondering what the General Aviation scene is like in Singapore, is it mainly just airlines or is there a charter industry as well? Turboprops? light jets? piston twins?
If anyone could fill me in, it would be greatly appreciated
Cheers

Hiya Grease,

You can try Region Air which operates a charter service. Not much info on them but they do exist.

Other than that, SIA flying college basically rules the place.

Are trying for an instructors post or just line flying??

Anyway, best of luck

Is there no one in Asia you're not applying to? CX, SIA, PAL ... MAS next I'm sure.

My advice a is anyone who now works in Asia is go and work in Europe.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies.
I do have an Instructor Rating but I'm looking for work in charter. I have multi-crew turboprop experience but am still relatively low-time.
I'm still trying to figure out what Australian qualifications are recognised in Singapore..If anyone knows - please advise?

The reason I haven't headed to the UK is I don't have the funds available to convert my Oz licence etc, and from what I've heard about the new regulations in Europe, it's a very confusing and frustrating time to try to convert.

Working in Singapore equals working in a sweat shop. Good advice is try Europe or America.

Yep, I'd do anything to live and work in the USA but I don't have a Greencard and from what I know it's pretty much impossible to get around it...I can legally live and work in the UK but the money and conversion thing will stop me.
