I think one of our members HAWK21 would be the best person to answer your question.

But i'd like to know whether you have cleared all papers and have a Valid DGCA AME licence - if YES be patient jobs are just round the corner. If NO try to get it as soon as possible airlines can get a lot of technicians but for someone who has a licence and whose sign is valuable its a rare commodity even today - !

Boeing7xxx there are plenty...do a little search, check the airline website or the agencies. You might have to wait a bit but just hang in there. I presume you are from singcargo why would you want to leave the 747-400 while the airline industry in India is still sorting it self.

1. My contract is over, the new contract is still being negotiated by the union, and there is abig difference in what is said and what actually reaches your bank. No doubt its the best work environment but i have bills to pay.

2. I've got a job in another airline but the 747's are coming to an end, faster than you'd imagine. I don't want to be stuck in the same situation 2yrs from now.

3. Since I have zero command experience I wouldn't mind shifting to a narrow to get command experience.

Shuchim.....I can understand your frustration.....But its a road all of us have been through.....
my advice would be Concentrate on clearing your HA BAMEL....This will give you a preference in joining an airline as an Aircraft technician, learn the job on line by working on type & in time you will be upgraded for an approved training.

My policy is ....Try to be the best technician & when you become an AME....you will beam with confidence.

The secret is never give up & don't stop working hard...The road is tough, but trust me success does come to the hard working.

regds
