Question Indonesia/Far East Jobs for Low Houred UK Pilot??

Anybody know anything about UK expat flying work in the Far East? Got 400+ hours, 100 twin, MCC, Perf A. Would love to fly out in Indonesia/Malaysia. Do any of those outfits take on people with ratings but no hours on type? etc, etc!?

Would love to hear from anyone with contacts or experience.

Thanks

ETR

Am not out to discourage u but I think u should stay put where u are right now.Situation is all bad out here with local flying schools churning out young pilots who are really really desperate for any control column they can get hold on.

With respect to stay put,
If you still want to drop by you've to work
a little bit with the conversion.
and one of the company which doesn't need
to have the rating try to contact:
Cpt Roy David via [email protected]
They operate such 73-2 and Md 82.

Friend of mine 2300 hours, Aussie ATPL, lots of twin command and recently obtained B737-400 rating in USA on simulator time only. No replies by fax or email from Indonesian operators. Is it worthwhile visiting Indonesia or East Asia in general to drop in on various 737 operators in the hope of getting a first officer slot? Any names?

Gus,

As I mention, you gus have to work with the
conversion.
Also as you note there is always a risk
and you should consider all of things.

Many high time pilots here

If you want to try the Civil Aviation Training center in Thailand they may be looking for a new aviation English teacher for about 700 US a month. Seriously. Really if you want to be a pilot stay where you are and tough it out. There are thousands of high time expat pilots here that can't buy a job as the general trend is to phase out expats and get the locals in. If you want to have some serious fun and have some extra money come on out!

Hey ronaldo69, can I talk with you offline? The administrator has disabled private messaging and your profile won't allow me to send emails. Could you drop me an email? Cheers

Re: Low pay

I lived and worked in Indonesia for almost a year once (non-flying computer-related job) and got paid less then the amount described in the previous post. The desire to make more money made me decide to move to the US (greed=bad reason). I found the people even though poorer when you weigh dollars, were rich in many other ways. I have a great deal of respect for all the people I met and friends I made while I was there and just want to remind people that there is more to life than money

411A is starting a L1011 freight operation soon (out of JKT or MNL). He will be looking for pilots and has stated on the Fragrant Harbour forum that will be giving opportunities to low time locals. I don't have his email address, but look on fragrant harbour as he is a frequent poster there.

(As an aside, I think he is a Spanish Athlete*, so don't get your hopes too high)

You guys could try Air Asia(no frills airline) based in KL. I understand they would be looking for pilots end of the year and early next year. They would be getting 6 737-300 , but no pilots to fly em. We are all out of pilots in the country, money aint that great but would be good for hours and experience building.

AIR ASIA

Air Asia ARE hiring foreign pilots contact Haridas Pillai the DFO for more details. I know of two Americans working there. Their latest 733 has already arrived I think.

Level 1,
Asia Pacific Auction Centre (APAC),
Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport,
47200 Subang,
Selangor Darul Ehsan,
Malaysia.
Tel : 603 7844 5555

Good Luck!
