" The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is likely to launch a probe into to the incident."
Mumbai, April 4 - A GoAir flight from Chennai to Mumbai, with 120 passengers on board, landed on a runway closed for maintenance Friday evening. The landing was normal, said an official of Airport Authority of India (AAI).
The official said maintenance works were being carried out on the runway at Mumbai airport when the GoAir aircraft landed.
'The runway was closed for maintenance. While workers ran for cover, the aircraft fortunately landed safely,' he said.
The authorities said it could be the fault of the air traffic control officials.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is likely to launch a probe into to the incident.
GoAir said the aircraft's pilot followed the instructions of the ATC officials. It said the aircraft landed after receiving clearance for landing at the Mumbai airport.

Are they still closing the runways in Mumbai in the middle of the peak traffic hours to do nothing? what a joke that place is, furthermore they have been doing (so called) maintenance on those runways now for the past few years, are they ever going to complete it?
