Airbus' in India
I read recently that that Genesis Leasing is getting more aircraft to send out to India. I know some are for Indigo, I believe the others are for Air Deccan but not to sure. I also that G.L. is making quite a profit so one could suspect that the more and more aircraft should be heading out that. One news report quoted 20% growth each year.
I was just curious (for those flying out there), and with all the buzz for expat pilots. What is the movement really like. I would believe that expats are going to be needed for quite awhile. Just to keep the aircraft crewed as they come. And second, which contract agencies really have agreements with the carriers.

My best guess is that expat Capts will be needed here for at least the next 5-years. By that time they will have enough Indian Capt's trained. Contract companies do have contracts with individual carriers (aeropersonnel, contractair, parc, rishworth,directpersonnel, IASCO etc). In some cases you can apply directly to the airline. Some of the major players now in India are:

enough captains ready(trained) in the next 5 years................
ha ha ha ha ha gimme a break
maybe some few per airline in a year
in the base im on , theres not a single indian capt
were all foreings...........line captains teaching (for free) these boys & girls
how to fly, well , to sit & try to catch up as much as they can
as there is the rule of no assisted takeoff or landing allowed
not that i agree with that
they will never learn
& the ones posted to be in command..................well..........
maybe one , but the other doesnt even know where hes standing
i know.....................................hes on the toilet seat sometimes
damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Assisted take offs and landings approval after 300 hrs on type.
Get your facts straight.
Maybe your airline hasn't given YOU the approval for the same. Gee, I wonder why?

the fact was straight on, & to bring it on further
in my airline its 500, not 300..............thank god
ask any expat here in india on this
speccially jet airways experiences, keep banging planes
& putting 3 G´s plus ldg´s
& i do have the so called approval to do it so
the f/o´s are the ones with poor and unpropper training who don have it
& even if they do, im not willing to put my ass, licence & career on the line
for a kid to F&%$" evrything in 2 seconds
they can try that with the indian captains

I agree it should take around 4-5 yrs for the Indian F/Os to move to the Left.
Currently A320 series is doing very well in the country & most Airlines have very impressive expansion plans lined up.
The English language is very well spoken in most urban areas too.
Airlines do approach Agencies if they cannot get Crew from the open market.
