Singapore Airlines

I haven't been able to find any information on DEFOs for SIA. Does this opening exists? Does anyone know what the minimum requirements are, and where to find this info. I've logged to SIA and did not see anything.

Thanks,

AA

All expat hiring is halted for the moment until a few A380 are here and they know what happens with the rest of the fleets. Not yet decided is what happens with 744, 345, 330, etc.

SQ Cargo

allatp,

if you are looking at joinng SIA as DEFO, forget it. As far as I know, they have not done that for a LONG time.

if you are still interested in joining the SIA group of companies, try SIA Cargo. here is the link.

Don't think so, mainline is "overstaffed" at the moment, so no apparent vacancies, and only the arrival of the 380 is supposed to alleviate that. At the moment no hiring in cargo, but that might change in the summer. Cheers.

Not at the moment. But things may change, you'll never know.

Silkair (SIA subsidery) has a program where you can apply to the mainline after you've done about 8-10 yrs with them.

Just out of curiosity, why was a SilkAir A320 aircraft using the "Singapore" mainline callsign once?

Just a guess but it was probably operating an SIA flight, maybe a charter or something like that?

SLK quite regularly flies SIA mainline flight numbers if passenger figures are lower, special and charter flights. This is called "selective ops". Also if there are bigger pax numbers, SIA 777s can take over SLK flights.
