Indian Security Clearance

Hello, does anybody knows how long it takes to get clearance from the indian authorities? I have been waiting for over 3 months but nothing yet.
Beside obviously the airline involved is there is any contacts available to check the status?

Thank you for your help.

well, theres no way to tell how long
i guess it depends of how far down your papper work is in front of the desk of the DGCA guy checking it,
once you see the offices youll understand what i mean
TONS of papper & dust
not to many computers inside that building
for instance, mine took in 2005 almost 3 months
others 3 weeks!!!! thats the record that i know
another friend of mine is still waiting since DEC 2006!!!!
so go figure, then after that its the Hurdles track to get the Visa
...................theyre slow..............PERIOD
be PATIENT..............PERIOD.
if your not youll go crazy, ill understand
i went through all of that!!!!!!!!

on the other hand once youll ck your money on the bank acc
youll be super happy

cheerīs

My case is that I have signed the contract(acctually I signed the copy of it), started to be valid from 15th of this month, but I'm still waiting for my security clearance...
My question is do I start to receive my salery next 15th regardless on my security clearance?

depends on the airline need
& how much the broker whants his share of the cake
for doing nothing sitting on a desk in europe

i only know one friend of mine whose brokker (for Kingfisher)
is paying him half salary till he gets there
& he doesnt ave the sec. check..................wow
its the only case i know
my case.........zip, zero, nada, while i waited!!!!
again, it depends

but i dont think most of them will pay a dollar if they dont have you over there

Thnx jumpdrive

Acctually I went for screening directly through Jet... I'm type rated on B737NG with some experience but still I don't have a clue what is going on!?! I have had a really poor communication with ppl from Jet since I have signed the contract
They have just told me that it usualy takes about 45 days for the security clearance and that their expat cell will contact me once they receive the clearance... That was 2 months ago

with most Indian airlines you need to keep them awake and keep calling them...thats the only way it will happen...

Mine took about 30-45 days. The contract airline handled everything.

Thumbs up Getting the SC

If you have a local contact, ask them to do some leg work for you. If you have'nt spent any time in India, it would also be a good opportunity to go there and get it done yourself and experience the country first hand.
It will be expedited, when you have personal contact with the folks out there. This is a known fact for expats who have worked in India.
