MFA Malaysia exodus

Rumours have it that several instructors (again) have left MFA.
Additionally all the engineers have quit their jobs following a deterioration of working conditions.

All this can be directly blamed on the principal, wonder when he will get sacked - soon hopefully!!!

Without instructors or engineers even the principal at MFA will have a hard time running a flight academy.

Its getting like the Sinking ship I believe but The K Man has survived it before,, Regards.

I cannot believe what I am hearing. I spoke to the principal once a long time ago, and he told me, that he was the greatest leader of all times, and that MFA was the no.1 when it comes to flight training. He also told me that there were only 2 flight schools left in the UK, and they would soon close, and most students from Europe would have to train at MFA He doesn't sound like a man who should be in charge of a big flight training organization. Maybe he shouldn't be in charge of anything at all.
I heard MFA got a new CI a while ago, and the rumours have it, that he is doing a magnificent job for MFA, so I am sure he will stand up and raise MFA to new heights

Wow he was so be really really insane by now, when I worked there in 98 it was like working for this insane person, I swear there was really a big screw missing!

Does he still have the letters VSM on his business card? We used to call him the Very Stupid Man, I even said it to his face once! If only the owners could see the trees for the forest and see how he has actually run their school into the ground over the last 10 years, but he got lucky with MAS and has blagged his way thru these years, just pure luck his mismanagement and incompetence hasnt even been noticed by the owners I think.

Let this post be a warning to any person stupid or desperate enough to apply to work here.

So what's the deal?

So why is it bad down there? I'm not doubting that it is but I'd like to know some specifics. I'm working at a flight school in China at the moment which sounds a lot like what you guys are dealing/ dealt with (the school accepting far too many students then it can handle, non-pilot-non-aviation managers that know nothing about either teaching or flying, a company that expects a pilot to do silly or impossible things at the whim of some management directive from some moron you've never heard of, etc...).

How much are they flying?

What about the government restrictions and ATC?

(We have to get permission from ATC, the military, our own idiot non-flying staff, the mayor and sometimes the Pope or the Dali Lhama before we can fly a damn circut.)

How about the accomodations? Anything to do around there? Bars, clubs, bikini clad Aussie tourists ?

I know it's technically an Islamic country but it is relatively secular right?

Any information would be much appriciated.
Cheers

So what is working WELL in MFA?

Hi guys,
I've heard/read loads about MFA, mostly things that have gone wrong. But something must be right in MFA that is making it continuously produce MAS pilots?
Not ideal as it it now, it is however a cheaper alternative compared to european training providers.
Some insights please.

Its like this, when I was there it was a case of a certain Principal saving money in every direction. We were promised all sorts of things that never Materialised. Expected to instruct with sub standard Tools, the Students expected to learn from same. I moved on before the aforementioned guy overloaded the place with Students. It appears he is running out of staff now as his BS cant baffle brains anymore.
Plenty of threads on this mate.
Corsair you wont find much difference to where you are, If you looking for hot night spots Dont go there.
Thats my view,,

Mfa Afi

So if let's say I did a CPL and a AFI course at MFA, upon graduating is it possible to work in MFA immediately as an instructor?
Pardon me on this, but how long does a CPL remain current without any flying done? Thanks.
