Flight Dispatcher

Hi there!

I hold a French load planner and Flight Difpatcher Licence I would like to kwow how it works in Australia. Do you needs a Licence to work as a Load planner(= load control agent) or a Flight Disaptcher. Australian Licence or any licence?
I haven't found any Australian schools/university...offering this training on the web?
Thanks

Best bet is to post on flight ops, crewing and dispatch thread or the DG Reporting Points Thread.

However, Australians dont need flight dispatch licences, I beleive its just on the job training with in house licencing. Companies that employ flight planners / flight dispatchers are:

-Virgin Blue (Navigation Services Officer) job quite often advertised on seek.com.au

-Qantas, but in limited numbers as they are now using LIDO

-AirPath / air New Zealand - they are contracted to do alot of flight plans for Australian regionals (Skywest / Alliance)

Load control Jobs - once again, no licences required, except for the ones individually issued by respective airlines once you are employed by a company. Companies employing load control officers in Australia are:

-Qantas - Load Control is centralised out of Melbourne and Sydney - they do all network load control from these two cities. Clients for Qantas load control include most overseas airlines that are handled by Qantas.

-Menzies - Menzies employ load control officers in Melbourne / Sydney / Brisbane - clients include Emirates / SIA / United

-Skystar - Skystar is a GHA operating in Perth and Brisbane. They do load control for SIA / Royal Brunei / Emirates

-Aero-Care - another GHA doing load control for clients based out of Adelaide and Sydney - major client is SIA.

Many other small operators employ load controllers however, its bloody boring doing trim charts for a F50 compared to a 777.

Anyway PM me if you are in need of further info.

If you check out www.seek.com.au there is a load control position available in Sydney at the moment with Aero Care.
