ICAO english test

Anyone ear anything about an ICAO english test in the near future???
Some Chinese major companies will face a great wall!
Air China is already hiring foreigners Captain on theyr 340s ( Via Airbus UK) for the internationals flights.
News???????

it doesnt matter if you fly or not to US
pilots will need to adhere to this level of english by 2008
even if you only fly in India, Vietnam, or Spain
in my company what they did is a one day pre assesment
then a test, supervised by someone from ICAO
but i dont know if the classes will go on further........i guess by the level
this people have specialy in pronunciation

Not all Chinese pilots need to pass. While many are doing the ICAO test in time for 2008, if they dont fly international routes/ airports, they dont need to pass, simple as that.
