Indus Airlines in India

http://indusair.biz/include/team.htm

They are based at Delhi and currently they are north India centric.

The big boss is Brig Kapil Mphan. He is the owner of he biggest breweries in India. Due to age, he is in a 'throttle back' mode. He is a good man. He has left management to the 'Team' that you can see on their home page.

They are getting/got CRJ-200s. Operations are mainly concentrate in north India with an odd foray to Mumbai and places like that. They have recently commenced operations and have not become very big as yet.

There is another airline MDLR headquartered at Delhi. They have ordered BAe Avro RJ. Aircraft have arrived, but the contracted 'type qualified' expat pilots have not arrived.

I have an inkling that even Bangalore based First Flight Couriers is likely to place orders for similar aircraft.

Any info that you need on the Indian avaition scene send me a PM.

Cheers

Any B757 operators

I recently received a note from a recruiting company mentioning an Indian Airline needing B757 Captains. Antone have an idea who that might be? I know there is a cargo operation doing DHL but I haven't bitten as yet on the ad.

India - 757 Captains

Hello,

I have not seen this ad. If you could forward this ad to me, I would be grateful.

We are based at Bangalore. We are a team of experienced aviators. We have personal top level contacts with almost all the airlines. Our Airline Resource Management Software is being used by most of them.

We are not yet into recruiting. We are wondering why? We have local terrain knowledge on QFE. We will not paint an overtly rosy figure. We will tell you the honest actuals.

Cheers

Air Deccan

I have a warning to all A320 Pilots about this airline. They are offering people with type ratings and little time on type, Jobs with terrible conditions attached.
A friend of mine was just recently offered a Job, as long as he supported himself and paid for his training and for the first 6 months not get paid.
If an airline like this is operating in India, it quite certainly shouldnt be.
Have also heard similair things about ATLASJET in Turkey. Give them both a wide berth.
I realise some of you out there will apply anyway, all you are doing is lowering the standards for the rest of us. We will all pay dearly in the end with poor wages and conditions.
Regards

Air Deccan

Couple of weeks back, in the Times of India there was an article about Air Deccan. It generally covered Warwick Brady (ex Ryan Air - their COO) and an expat Chief Pilot (I forget his name).
Warwick Brady was quoted as saying that they make their cabin crew clean the toilets. The Chief Pilot was quoted as saying something akin to 'All pilots talk a lot of bull ****'. There was some sort of irreverence in these statements that relate to the the actual crew operating their aircraft. Such cavalier statements (both from expats) do not reveal a healthy trend.
Just a couple of days back, their Patna-Delhi A-320 flight was stopped at the launching pad by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). There were six excess passengers on board the aircraft. Cabin crew was coaxing parents with kids to put the children on their laps so that the six extra passengers could be accommodated Four passengers obliged. But one objected. One of the passengers rang up the newspapers. The Regional authority controlling the airfield was informed and he ordered CISF to stop the flight from proceeding further.
There are also many instances when passengers have arrived at the destination without their luggage in the cargo hold. The airline claimed that they left the luggage behind as they had to take on extra fuel etc. Passengers had to wait for hours till another flight fetched up with the luggage. Overall, the airline has been getting bad press these days and there is no press release from them to sort out matters.
Cheers

Well air Deccan has to do a lot of improvements when it comes to customer service.

In comparison spice jet, Paramount,King fisher etc etc are a delight to fly with.

I wonder with such bad customer service how are they getting good loads maybe its their fares they offer.

cheers.
