You must be joking. The 90% are not expensive. The 75% are ridicuosly so but no one uses them so 25% of nothing is... nothing. They could make a lot more if they allowed more people to use the 90%.
An empty seat can never be sold again and could at least have generated some profit if it was filled by a SIA Cargo employee.
The only thing they achieve with the present policy is creating extra revenue for the low cost carriers in the region. (And some extra work for their training department since this might be the straw that...).

To the contrary, I have bought a 75% return ticket SIN-LAX-SIN for S$1285.00 (inclusive of all taxes). Couldn't find any other airline offering a better price.

Well, Cargoboy, on a long sector like that and without a family you might think it's OK. But a regular ticket with SIA costs 2179. If you get bumped in LA for two nights because you're on stand by your savings will be gone.
Look at the price for flying for example SIN-BKK-SIN with wife and two kids and compare that to a firm seat on Tiger and tell me if it's a good deal.
And while you're at it. How much would you have had to pay for your LAX trip if you were allowed 90 % tickets? 765.... Do you think the difference is fair?

Quite agree with FDs last statement - it actually stinks. Mainline captains get 4 - yes 4 ID 90s a year. Then after 10 years service they graciously allow unlimited ID90. How punitive is that.

here in EK I can buy as many I want but they are not ID 90 here they call them service charge tickets of course they cost more than an ID90, friends from other airlines fly cheaper on EK than EK employees.

The staff travel screws began to tighten at SQ when two folks departed...SK 'Charlie' Chan, VP Flt-Ops, and chairman JYM Pillay.
Charlie was a pilots guy, and JYM backed him up to a large degree.

The entire staff travel program at SQ/SQC is typical of the attitude at the company. Doing a good job means less punishment!
