SIA Aptitude Testing

Hi all,

I assume I am not the only one getting the following message in my inbox.

------------------------------------------------

Hello Madam/Sir

I work for a company called Pilot Aptitude Training Systems(PATS), which is based in Melbourne. We have been providing training for airline pilot applicants to the Qantas group, with a sole focus on coaching people to obtain a higher score in their aptitude tests. To date our clients have had an excellent pass rate in their Qantas tests which traditionally have a very high failure rate( around 80%). SIA use exactly the same three psychometric tests to assess cadet pilot applcants during the second(final) stage. It is our intention to come to Singapore to run our course for SIA applicants, and we have prepared a document which fully details our service. This is also applicable to MAS cadet pilot applicants.

If you would like to receive our course document please email us at [email protected] (underscore between info and pats)

Best Regards

J L Ryan - Pilot Aptitude Training Systems

What I would like to say is that, it is no use aceing the aptitude test and doing badly during the group assessment and final interviews.

Being a pilot is not just about hand-eye coordination. YOUR personality and disposition also plays a huge part in the interview process. If you think that going for this aptitude training program will up your chances in getting through the interview, then go ahead and spend the money.

An easier option, and one that really works, is to prepare for YOUR interview thoroughly. That means, knowing your stuff, not lying about anything, and showing you've got the right attitude and interest in becoming a commerical pilot. That also includes being dressed appropriately and how you carry yourself as an individual. Remember, you are applying to join SIA, and you WILL be the face of SIA when you don the uniforms and walk through the terminals for your flight, provided you get selected, and complete the training.

There are numerous posts here in this forum talking about almost everything that can be discussed regarding the application, selection, interview, training and waht not. For those interested in APPLYING to SIA as a cadet pilot, PLEASE do YOUR homework.

I apologise if this is a "repeat" post, but seriously, there are too many people out there who expect to be spoon fed.

Cheers.
