Another Curious Pilot for the Maldives..?

Hello to all it's good to see the various opinons about the Maldives Float jobs, as there is always two sides to a story right..!

Anyways I am another curious soul that think flying these great hardy aircraft either called "Hogs" "Twotters" or Twin Otters around a tropical island paradise for a couple of years sounds like a fun gig before getting into the corporate world of flying..

So can any of you that have actual experience in the Maldives provide some more info please..?

I am currently still finishing up my training and honestly I am about a little more than a year away, at which time I will have my FAA ATPL, and if I choose this direction I will complete my ATP in Seaplanes as well there is a company in Florida where I can get Multi-Sea-Plane time and also get a ATP sea rating for a reasonable cost...

All together when I am finished I will have 1500-2000hrs total time 500-750 Multi Turbo-Prop part 135 experience SIC ofcourse and around 1000hrs PIC.. And roughly estimated around 50-75hrs seaplane time unless dear old saint nick provides me some more money in my stocking for float time...

I am quite interested in enjoying life for a year or two doing some real flying somewhere like the Maldives or Fiji and building time while living in a relaxing enviroment for a while after my long and grueling training process. Quite honestly I already have a pretty much garunteed job flying MD11's or 777 with a major foreign carrier upon completion of my training but I think I would rather put that off for a year or two and try something a little different first. Most would probably think that is crazy, but I have a different outlook on things sometimes..

Can any of you tell me more regarding the F/O slot with MA-Taxi or TMA or reccomend any simillar positions somewhere. Also what are the true minimums regarding experience, as always published is typically quite different from being competitive. Oh I also will have a BS degree as a Professional Aviator and my Masters in Aviation Management as well at that time..

Another thing I would like to know is the Payscales what is a realistsic break down of Pay and is it salary or hourly..? It is also stated that they provide housing, what are the living conditions of the housing like..? And is it possible to get an allowance and choose to live somewhere of your choice..? And for the people stationed at resorts what is the difference..?

One last thing my wife is a Paramedic and we figure there are some good oppurtunities either for medical assistants or paramedic staff positions with the resorts does anyone know anything regarding the medical arena.? She is also aeromedical certified. Of Course for both of us all of our certification and experience is from the United States, which I figure would be acceptable in the Maldives as well.. We are both 30yrs old and understand dedication and hard work so no problems there,. Anyways again any good insite to this type of work would be much appreciatted and again we are thinking only for a couple of years, but who knows.

Thanks For The Info..!!!

CHECK THE PAL EXODUS THREAD. Opening at Subic Bay and you may qualify for SIC. If you do not meet ME exp, take a chance and shoot a resume thorugh anyway- worse thing that could happen is they turn it down.
