Can I work in india as a First Officer?
Hello all,
I'm staying in Kolkata for the whole month of August working as a volunteer, and would like to know if I meet the requirements for any Indian airline and therefore hand in my CV.
My current qualifications are listed as follows:
- JAA Frozen ATPL(A) licence. ME/IR/FI(A) current. First Time passes in all
(14) subjects and flying checks
- MCC qualified.
- 550 hrs. total time.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Spanish nationality.
- Additionally, I have more than 550 hrs. as observer time (flight student) on B737 and MD80.
I understand that as a low timer I don't have many chances to get my CV through, but just wanted to clear this out.
Thank you

No harm in sending your cv, anyway nothing to lose...you never know right time at the right place. I was lucky like that , not in india though, this was many years ago when there was no real shortage, i was with low time and light twin hrs and one fine day i just sent in my cv's to few airlines and was lucky with one of the airlines in southeast asia........so good luck

Hey turbolagger
I think you would satisfy the requirements, for most of the private carriers in India. Just lok @ their websites & with your hrs, you would probably qualify for a SFO's position!!
pls check out : www.flykingfisher.com www.goair.in www.spicejet.com
www.jetairways.com
I don't think you will have too much of a problem with the kind of experience you've got.
All the best
HPC
P.S. Feel free to PM me if you need any help in this matter
