Asiana???
Just read the Asiana contract, And I have some questions. Maybe somebody know the answer
On the A330 fleets do they offer commuting contract or do we have to stay in Seoul
Some airline in this area are giving a cummuting contract, and a 10 day off in a row per month wherever on there network.
Thanks

You will be locked in Seoul into a Appartment. The other Airline you mean is not hiring into the A330 anymore due to internal changes. Why do you want to go there anyway? You be better off on India with the commuting opportunity there. At the moment they offer you 6/2 week rotation and 28 days leave in addition. It works out you can do about 6/3. So you work 6 weeks and get 3 weeks off. Make shure you get the days you need to travel on top of that. Any further question? PM me.

Why Asiana?
B737NG is right.
They may suggest you a (look like) commuting offer. But actually it is not.
Don’t trust their words.
Right now, there are no official foreign base in Asiana. All expat base is in SEOUL just for Asiana’s convenience.. so they can fire you at any time they want. Korean labour rule is as harsh as Hell.
Practically Korean government and Asiana never recognize your right like any other pilot’s in this country. You are just a working dummy in the cockpit. If company give you a fuel(or they call it “meal”) you should work. No matter where your biological clock is. The schedule system never applies human physiology.
If you have any friend in Asiana, ask about what they did during Asian economy crisis.
Asiana put their expat captains in the simulator and abused it to fire them. Fortunately at that time there were official foreign bases so expat brought this matter in the British court and won.
Asiana get rid of all official foreign bases after that. They can put you misery at any time they want.

Do really hope, that the expat-hater "flat-top" hair taiwanese guy from China Airlines, who recently arrived to Asiana 747 fleet will be treated the same "nice" way as he did with the expats in Taiwan.
