Has anyone lived in Brunei as a Ex-pat?
We are thinking about Brunei and wondered if those that have lived up there can shed some light on what it's like. Including social life, schooling and what it would be like for for a young boy of 6 who is used to life in Australia.

Dont do it
The social life used to be fantastic. Now you will be working so hard on the Boeing fleet that you will only have time in Brunei to eat, sleep and leave again.
Schooling is not cheap. Boarding school allowance is payable if you put your child in a school outside Brunei but it will cost you big dollars to put them in a good school in Brunei.
There are a few good points for a young family. Low crime rate, nice beaches but thats about it.
If you just need a job for a year until you go somewhere else then its an ok option but if you are looking for a career and a degree of job satisfaction you will be very disappointed. Management is abysmal.
