Malaysian ATPL convert to Singapore ATPL

Curious to know the process regarding the conversion of the Malay ATPL to Singapore ATPL. Type rated in Malaysia and thinking about the move across...

Both countries use the CA 6 from UK so I am hoping my exam results will be recognized over there.

Anyone have any info or advice

Cheers

It's not quite as simple as you have been made to think.

http://www.caas.gov.sg/caas/level3.j...=1142239378825

See para 3.17.

If the link is lost, go to:
http://www.caas.gov.sg/caas/index.jsp
Then under e-SERVICES, click on Flight Crew Examination and finally on FAQ.

At the end of the day, it's best you write in to CAAS rather than rely on what you read here. Could be a costly mistake.

Hi Guys,

CAAS will NOT issue you with a SINGAPORE ATPL if you do not have a job in a Singapore airline. If you meet this condition, your Malaysian ATPL will be recognised.

The requirement for AIRLAW, type exam, type rating etc are standard stuff that each company will require you to do, so no problems there. The Human performance factors exam may not be required if you have done a similar exam as a requirement for the Malaysian ATPL.

However with less than 1500 hours, it looks like you may be holding a "Frozen ATPL" in which case CAAS will give you the same and your licence will be "unfrozen" once you have 1500 hrs.

Cheers

as long as you get an job offer, conversion is not a problem...

but if you want to convert just as it is...without a job offer, you can forget it..

Schools full?

FHC,
But what of MAS suspending their cadet program? Wouldn't that ease the backlog of student is these schools significantly?
I was told most the majority of students in a particular batch would consists of MAS cadets, with a few private sponsored ones thrown in, but now that the MAS ones are gone?
