SQ - shorthault routes

Which a/c types do SQ employ for the shorter routes? i'm talking 200-1000 nm

They use all their types. B744, B777 and A345.

I don't think they use A345 for short hauls.... mainly for the long hauls.

But 747s and 777s are used on most short haul routes

345 is used between SIN and Bali!

Don't forget, SilkAir. They are the primary short haul arm of SQ flying 319 and 320s.

One reason why they use 345 on short haul (JKT, Bali etc.) is that their pilots need sectors.

Sometimes they also use 744 to BKK, depends on traffic. 777 is main short haul machine. Beside SLK.

isn't the 744 the cargo plane? and 747 the pax plane?

No Rubber. The B747-400 in a pax configuration is known as a B744, the B747-400 in a freight configuration is know as the B744F. A B747F is any model of B747 that is a freighter.
