Re: SIA DEC
Cub71 - Not 100% certain but I think you will find that the A380 will, initially at any rate, be crewed by pilots who already have considerable Airbus experience and the most likely candidates are the current A340-500 guys and those who have previously flown the basic A340 with SIA.
The B777 fleet is an expanding fleet so less likely to shed pilots to the A380 than the B744 pax fleet, for example.

Re: SIA DEC
Well, with Singapore Airlines you never know what it is in their mind.A friend of mine who joined the company 4-5 years ago as A340/300 DEC (at that time he was A320 Skipper)for about 3 years changed the equipment three times.First A340/300,(the aircraft was phased out due to miserable performance). An year later transition to 747/400 (never flown Boeing before) for less than a year, to follow another transition to A340/500 Skipper. Interesting, isn't it? Another friend two months ago signed a new contract, transition from 777 to 747/400(the day before to start the ground course),to be informed on the very following day that he is to stay with 777,
because of Captains shortage. Bottom line, the company makes a very bold steps crediting their pilots professionalism and transferring them according its operational needs. Needless to say that this is probably the only company recruiting pilots from 737 and A320 for DEC 777 and A340/500. So, how they going to crew their new A380 nobody knows. But for sure plenty of 777 Skippers are going to change the cockpit, even with no Airbus experience. The seniority probably also say so. Anyway, we'll see it very soon.

Please count me in as well. I would appreciate any info on the recruitment process.
Also, the web site states what one gets as far as allowances etc but what does this mean as far as nett salaries are concerned. Thanks in advance.

EL CAPITAN
Everything is taxed in SQ except downroute allowances.so Housing, free ticket, ID90's ( ID 75 only for Cargo!!) Bonus, School Fee allowance all are taxable. Having said that the tax is lower than in most countries. First $160,000 of salary tax is $16,600 Next $160,000 19%
Tax is payable about 18months in arrears so you need to put away your 13 month salary and bonus away for tax depending on amount of Bonus.
