Luxury airline in India

Hi all,

Recently heard a rumour about a member of the Mysore Royal family wanting to set up a luxury airline in India. I think he was thinking of calling it "Palace of the Sky" or "Sky Palace". Does anyone have any information on this?

Any one and every one with US$ 5 mil can start an airline in India, lot of small biz are doing it for the publictiy they get from statments like this.

What happend toIndiGo they placed an order of 100 A320s at Paris show??????
In next one yr the market will many these guys fold up or merge, sell out unlike europe/ usa there are no alternate airports to save on landing costs and ATF has a huge tax on local airlines.

Highly unlikely, that it's called Palace of the skies. Because this expression is occupied by Air India in its awful livery. Even a 787 looks ugly in it!

Indigo is up and flying, saw it lately here in SIN.

Yes there is an Indigo and GO.
Go is up and running and ironically (keeping the thread topic in mind) if their website (www.goair.in) is to be believed they look like aiming for the ultimate in lack of luxury!

They are serviing only water (at no charge) and nothing else "due to circumstances beyond our control".

Not exactly relishing news esp for passengers their BOM CJB flight which takes nearly two hours and leaves at 2010!"But you are most welcome to bring your own food sir" so drawls the chap in their call centre!.

Truly low cost - without a doubt! Reminisicent of the good old train journeys in the olden days when restaurant/buffet cars were unheard of and where food was lovingly prepared by grandma and carefuly packed by grandpa to eat in the train!

Just came across a news blurb in Airliner World magazine (November 2005 issue) about a fractional ownership company/airline in India using Citation jets....its called Club One Air

Anyone know if they are hiring? Company website is www.cluboneair.com
