BEWARE !!!
If you do a search on EVA in this past forum, you will see that there are no favorable posts with this outfit.
More people are leaving than coming, which means that there is a serious problem. I know some people there and the pilots are considered the cheap prostitutes of Asia and they work you hard.
They have no respect for pilots. The contract terms they outline to you in the interview is completely different than the one you sign when you get hired. Many were surprised, especially leaving thier previous employer with the hopes of a better life. Days off are not guaranteed and subject to change due to operational issues.
If you want a life and a career, go to CX.
Good luck.

I had an interview with CX and found out that I was not good enough for them, but I'll keep trying, but in the mean time I need to work for a company who can give me a heavy jet time. It beats flying a regional jet for peanuts.

If heavy jet time is what you are after look at Atlas, Polar, Gemini, World, or Kalitta before going to EVA. Of course those all assume you have the right to live and work in the USA.
In 1996/97 five of my friends went to work for EVA as Cruise Captains. All five had either quit or been fired within two years. I now know a couple of other guys who did the full four year contract and left after they saw no upgrade in their near future.
I also tell people never take a job as an F.O. in Asia, especially if you are from a western society. Life is too short to put up with the treatment you would get from an Asian Captain. Think how you might react when a guy tries to slap your hand away from the controls because you aren't flying the way he wants you to fly ( even though what you are doing is perfectly acceptable procedure ). That may not happen at EVA, but it definitely happens at other carriers in Taiwan.
That said, Taiwan is my second home. The people are very friendly and the island has a lot to offer once you get out of the big cities.

Thanks typhoonpilot, but I tried those carriers so many times and no response. And yes I do have right to live and work and the US because I am Asian/American. I miss Asia so much so I think EVA is not a bad choice for me to get my heavy jet time experience.
Maybe that Asian Captain who's going to slap my hand is my uncle
