yeah, the Shenzhen and Hainan Airlines hired some expacts. Now It's the Majors . Most likely I think they need DE capt/fos since that's the quickest way to cover up the pilot shortage. We are very very short of pilots .
But problems exist ,first of all, how do they communicate in cockpit if flying with expats. English ? it's even diffcult for those newly graduated who speaks comparatively better English.
Heard from Shenzhen and Hainan guys it's pretty quiet and boring between PF and PNF.
On the other hand We got 60-80 F/Os hold FAA CPL started from zero hour including me .and most of other young pilots have training experience in English speak countries. Maybe situation is better .
But, the rumor is pretty much confirmed. Heard it a lot from authorities.
need more info. PM me.

Link to Oxford Aviation Training web site.

Some come on you guys in the know, is this pilot shortage real?

I'm a low hour pilot just about to finish my training (JAR CPL IR/ME & MCC)and want to get a job in China to be with my girlfriend, a Chinese national who has just moved back. I've had some possitive feed back from a couple of Chinese airlines, mainly due to contacts my girlfriends family knows, but does anyone have any other useful information you could pass my way???

I've had no luck with airlines in Taiwan or Hong Kong...seems like China Air and EVA are getting plenty of furloughed guys from the States with heavy time and type ratings. CX??....I'm waiting in line for an interview like all the others...

I'm going back to a US regional to get more time and upgrade to get PIC time...looks like the upgrade times are going down to 1-2 years at some regionals.

My times are 3200 hrs w/ 2000 jet SIC...

Good luck to all....I'll keep an eye out for the mainland China contracts.

Can anyone please shed some light on this topic? I've checked the websites of most of the airlines in China (ie. Air China, Shenzhen, Hainan) and didn't see any info on them needing pilots.

So which airlines in China are hiring? Any info would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
