Japan - who's the crazy one?

Could somebody please take a look at this:

http://yoga.at.infoseek.co.jp/flash/kikkomaso_e.swf

and suggest what on earth is going on?

Is this entertaining? Is it satire? Irony? The product of a diseased mind?

It genuinely stumps me as to what sort of upbringing the Japanese must be subject to in order to be able to buy in to whatever this means. I think I'd be able to relate more to an Amazonian shaman more than my first world cousins here.

All part of lifes rich tapestry?

It's a promotional ad for Kikkoman (brand name) soysa sauce.
The "single serve" sizes come in those fish head shaped, plastic screw top containers.

"Show me.".."Show you"...Sho-yu (soy-yu) is the Japanese word for soy sauce.

Comprende?

Right - that's reasonable enough.

But why does the cat end up hanged? Is it because he was ashamed at having to ask what to use for a 2nd time or because he refuses to submit to Kikkomans demand he use soy sauce on his eggs? I understand that he might get a bit cheesed off at having to answer the question a second time, but surely nobody had to die.

I guess it was the honourable way out for a cat that couldn't make its mind up!

Kikkoman's obviously a hormone charged guy, so why wouldn't he want to see a bit of pussy hanging around?!!

@ Kaptin M

Kikkoman is not only hormone charged, he is a sex offender.
Look at whom he is in bed with at the end of the clip, in other countries kikkoman would go to jail.

And kikkoman sauce is awfull, in Japan I always ask for an alternative. Nobody tried to kill me.

Cheers

Well, I just viewed said ad on my laptop in viewof my Japanese spouse (while we were drinking a very nice red) and she laughed her head off at the ad.

I have even had to email the link she was so impressed! No doubt all her co-workers will have a giggle next week at work.

Dirtbox -yes it's all part of life's rich tapestry - may I suggest that you be a little bit more accepting of what other cultures have to offer and not view things from your own cultural and moral perspective.

Japan is a laugh a minute - just sit back and enjoy.

Fark!

Wife told me it's a fake...but it seems lot's of people think it a real Kikkoman ad/promotion. I thought it was real (considering all the silly stuff I've seen on TV here in Japan so far).

So is it a sanctioned Kikkoman ad or is it a fake ad?

I tried to find the actual ad on the Kikkoman company website...couldn't find it. Anyway, she thinks it's a fake because they do that all the time here I guess...

Lightbulb

I doubt that it's a "fake" - probably some talented individual trying to get onboard with Kikkoman by demonstrating their expertise in that area.

.............maybe
