Post Lion Air Jakarta

Guys,

Just curious for the contact details of Lion Air flight operations (phone/fax) or an email address of flight operations, or does a management pilot or HR person take care of that side of things?

Do they employ ex-pat F/O's?

Is an ICAO licence suitable for working there?

What sort of flying hours needed to join?

How many hours do you do a month?

Is Lion Air really that bad to work for?

How safe are they?

Do they still have I believe 2 x 737-300 or -400's????

What is the pay like?

Thanks,

DW.

Yes... for MD80 and now for MD90s

What sort of flying hours needed to join?
I you have an MD80/90 rating, they'll consider. For the 734 ops they got enough locals to take the vacancies. Expect higher than 1000hrs type to be considered, but this depends on their requirements at the time of your application.

How many hours do you do a month?
Last advertised as 90... and "productivity pay" comes after 90. However, I've heard of cases where some have done 120hrs a month but log 90... somehow... but unconfirmable.

Is Lion Air really that bad to work for?
Do a search for Lion topics here, there's been quite a few...

How safe are they?
2 runway excursion on the same plane within 8 days this month alone (1 complete, 1 partial). Plus crash in Solo in Nov, plus another rumoured excursion in Padang last month.

We hear things are improving, but how and its effect on safety I dunno...

As well as their MDs, 4 734s now... 15 734s and 5 MD90s are coming so they said.
