EVA contract

Dear EVA pilots,

I just attended a selection last week in Nan Kan ; I think I will be hired. However , I still don`t quite understand the contract as far as pay during training.

Could someone let me know what you actually get ? They talk about incentive flying allowance of 50 hrs. Is that on top of your basic salary or not ?

Hope that someone could clarify this for me ,

Thanks a lot,

you get basic pay for training until ioe completed. around 2800usd after tax. the 50 hrs is the basic for the newer contracts, its only of relevance when you fly the line and fly more than the 50 hrs and accrue overtime rate.

Thank you Dai !

As a european pilot this is quite a struggle for 4 months ; however , if someone is only required to pay tax in Taiwan that could make a difference.

I find it difficult to make up my mind whether to go for EVA , especially on the long run.

Cheers,
Captainice

Thumbs down

around 2800usd after tax.
You've GOTTA be joking!
My Chinese housekeeper gets paid more than THAT (plus she gets free food & board) and doesn't do any back of the clock work!

Any of you guys with enough experience for EVA would be far better off applying elsewhere.

That "salary" is a JOKE!
No, on second thoughts, EVA is the joke for offering it - anyone who takes an offer like that one must be unemployable elsewhere.

FW,

Beside CX, what others are hiring in Asia that offer more pay for FO positions?...SAI, EVA and CAL seem to all offer the same basic package.

the 2800 $ is basic pay indeed ; however , when you have done your linecheck your total salary is between 5000 and 6000 $ after tax.

This is not bad if you take the low tax rate into account. Then I make more than as captain B757 in Europe for example. But my company has gone bankrupt.

But there need to be a tax agreement between the country you live in and Taiwan ; this might be a problem.

Conclusion ; pay is bad during training which takes a long time , but then its okay I think.
