Heard a rumour that a MAS 737 ran into the terminal at Miri? Can anyone confirm please, with some details if possible.

Gday mate
Not a rumour but fact....apparently it forgot to stop about 5 meters beyond the dot....result a tear in the upper skin of the left engine. Towed away to hangar and repaired. Funny enough the incident was not hushed up, and the media actually published it on the front page of the local rags. We won't go into further details or might end up in a written fight like last the last AA posting eh...
On another subject, you must be busy with the disaster relief?
Cheers

Good to hear

Hi WLM, yes we are in the thick of it. Have been exteremely busy. Good to see that it was an open issue. I guess a couple of guys will be side benched for about a year. I wonder what happened to the SOP of mirroring the brakes on the Co-pilot side. It was brought in for that reason. Compliance, compliance, compliance....hehehehe.

All the best for the new year, Salamat hari tahun baru.

There was a miscommunication with the ground crew involving hand signals, and ended up no chocks were in place.

A good lesson I learnt--either strictly standard hand signals or best of all headset must be used to confirm chocks in.
