What you are asking on the forum is not quite that simplistic. I suggest you visit the relevant authorities such as Malaysian Immigration Department or get an Immigration Lawyer to answer all your question pertaining to acquiring your Malaysian PR status.

From experience, you may get it after 15yrs or so, unless you are an Indon, they miraculously get it in no time....

You can buy one at, is it 150000 MYR? 100000 if you are single. It will give you a PR for 5 years, but you are not allowed to work.

Do a search on Malaysia my second home.

East Malaysia has slightly different rules (as always). Over there you need a sponsor and a documented income as well as cash.

Hummm!!!

Well the reason I want PR is to resolve a work permit problem. Malaysia has just passed legislation to denying under 25s work permits. This to combat the problem of maids arriving in Malaysia far too young and someone has thought it should apply to pilots.

Question

Doesn't that say something about your employment status?

PR status is just about impossible in Malaysia. Even under 'Malaysia My Second Home' you are not allowed to work as this program is aimed at retirees.

Even if you marry a local, convert to islam...maybe 20 yrs later you may be able to apply. However if you have a local wife and she sets p a company you might be able to get thru that way, but would cost a lot of coffee money!

I would not say Indons get it easily, hundreds are deported every week!
