Cathay Pacific Second Officer Direct Entry

Hello,

I'm in the middle of my application and have everything ready to go, except that it's asking for all the pages of my logbook to be uploaded. However, the site only allows a max 10 MB upload and there's no way I can fit in all of it in that space. Compressed files are also not allowed. Any guidance on how to proceed?

Thank you in advance!

How many pages you have? I just scan all of them into one pdf and mono colour it then compressed that file, mine was 144 pages.

How many hours (roughly) have you got?? Just checking my prospects :ooh:. I used an online tool to compress my logbook pages, however, I'm migrating to an electronic logbook, as the paper is showing its limits. Scanning images is not the way to go.

i have used my electronic logbook as a PDF and it accepted it (remember you need to highlight all the required hours on their form )

They responded in a few hours with mine. Initial interview a few days later, and the offer for the in-person interview in less than a day after that. I wouldn't panic though, I'm sure it will come!

Hi, anyone attending Cathay's Roadshow in Australia? Particularly in Perth? As this is my first interview with an airline, I was wondering if I could possible get a little heads up of what to expect for the panel interview.

OrangeAgent 17th Apr 2024 18:30

I see. Yeah I only have piston. I'm guessing maybe end of the year they will call me. Hopefully.

With an ATPL, ~2,500 hours, and three jet type ratings, did you try the DEFO position too? Also, with three type ratings, how do you only have 600 hours multi time?

Lily0623 19th Apr 2024 09:08

900 Muti turbine? Why not make it 1500 and apply for the DEFO position?

Lily0623 19th Apr 2024 09:12

The one spot interview is fairly easy what u need to worry about is the final interview and flight grading

I think they realistically want closer to 3,000 hours for a DEFO and jet time would be an asset. That's why I went the DESO route, although you might be right, maybe get a jet job for a year or two at home then reapply for the DEFO. Might save a few years compared to the SO path, as they're estimating 5-6 years as a SO before getting the FO position.

Have you gone through the process, any tips? How did you find the in person assessment/interview and SIM eval?
