DD or CHeque

Still not clear, DD or Cheque ..PLease advice ASAP. and really appreciate for the previour years paper

cyrilroy21 18th Jul 2013 16:04

Stick with the Cheque because thats what is mentioned in the email .
Get two photocopies of the filled in Cheque as well

Use 21 / 07 / 2013 ( the day of the exam for the date on the cheque )

Bring your Cheque book as well ( just in case your cheque gets damaged or you make a mistake while filling it and they dont accept it for some reason )

The reason people ask for DD is
1. It was mentioned in the original ad on the website
2. With a DD you dont have to maintain a min balance of 2500 rupees in your bank account until the day they cash the cheque

Since the email says Cheque , stick to Cheque....

@Tango Alpha November

send an email to [email protected] . Show a scanned copy of the DGCA receipt and mention the reference number you got when you applied

Would anyone have any idea how Jet Airways set their cut off? Does each paper from the 5 have a 70% cut off? Or do they take an aggregate score over 5 papers and then select a cut off?

aviator3233 22nd Jul 2013 12:04

Anyone who has given the jet exam earlier, what do they ask in the group discussion round ?
Thank you

cyrilroy21 27th Jul 2013 20:43

Here are some of the questions asked for the Jet Airways 2013 exam . All this has been written down from memory and lots of pilots contributed towards it . Thanks to the members of the Ghost Aviators group for bringing forward such a collection

P.S : Few errors might have crept in so please do let us know regarding the same . Please check your reference books as well for the correct answer

Group Discussion
There were 5 rounds in this one.We were divided into teams(4 guys each team) and then each round 2 of these teams would meet i.e., 8 guys sitting together and doing the discussion. The topics were all based on Aviation except one round (A detailed time table is given). They had 1 debate topic for sure everyday. I had it on Fly by wire. Then they had one non aviation round based on Survival in case of Air crash in Mountains/Desert/island, and you were given a list of items and you had to decide and conclude that what priority will you give to each item.Then one round was on Air crash. Where you were given and Air crash report and you had to discuss and decide what caused the Air Crash.

Some interesting Statistics collected from various sources for the Jet exam

These are the roll numbers issued for the various centres in India for the Jet Airways exam
Now assuming the roll numbers issued represent the number of candidates who appeared for this exam

Mumbai - 5001 to 5960 = 960 Candidates

Delhi - 7001 - 8600* = 1600 Candidates

Chennai - 9001 - 9600* = 600 Candidates

*Not an exact number but the first two digits are correct

Total number of roll numbers issued

960+1600+600 = 3160

Out of these 3160 Candidates a few applied twice so they got two different roll numbers
A few Candidates who had their CPL under process were also allowed to write the exam
A few candidates did not appear at all

P.S : I heard for Mumbai there was a second location as well with another set of roll numbers outside the range i have given above . If anyone knows anything please post it here

aviation_insider 6th Aug 2013 09:17

@cyrilroy_21
Are u sure that jet allowed cpl under issue candidates to sit in exam ? Can anyone else confirm the same.
Thanx

cyrilroy21 9th Aug 2013 06:14

@aviation insider

Yes I know a couple of guys who got the roll numbers from Jet to appear for the exam
At first they were reluctant to admit them but finally they decided to allow them and they sat for the exam

aviation_insider 9th Aug 2013 11:50

Ok.
Just got confirmed. Jet let only those people sit in the exams whose papers had been processed by dgca for cpl but still hadn't actually received the cpl physically. So technically, they are cpl licence number holder, and that's being really gracious on the part of jet.

cyrilroy21 9th Aug 2013 12:50

@aviation insider

Well they guys I know who sat for the Jet exam never actually got the CPL number issued

Those who had a CPL number issued wouldnt have faced any problem in the first place in receiving roll numbers

Those who applied initially without a CPL number did not get the roll numbers and HR personally replied saying they entered improper CPL number

However one week before the exam these guys ( without a CPL number ) were issued Roll numbers for the exam

attitudeFlying 10th Aug 2013 11:49

Yes, people who had a receipt of documents submitted to DGCA were allowed to sit for the exam.
